Zip failed a couple of weeks out of the 12 month warranty on my softie expansion 5. Now I'm left with a useless bag and no recourse

Got a snugpak sleeping bag true enough it’s nice and small but so is the heat it provides. Apparently does -2 comfortably…. I’m currently using it in core all the nights are about 10 or 11 degrees and I’m still having to get fully dressed inside the sleeping bag with multiple layers and I’m still cold. If you did -2 with these sleeping bags prepare to die it’s that simple. Waste of money just carry full size stuff that actually works instead of this novelty small crap.

One of my very favourite outdoors kit brands and much of it apparently UK made or sourced. Have used the brand over many decades including the military lines kit and plain outdoors intended hiking and camping lines. Their blankets, jackets, hammocks especially are outstanding.

I've used snugpak equipment whilst in the military and in civilian search and rescue units.
I have found the quality of snugpak to be going downhill.
I can't trust the quality anymore it's too hit and miss.
We bought kit monster 65 deployment bags for rope rescue equipment and they are falling apart after 2 years which makes me worry about the build quality of their other kit.

I have bought two Snugpak items, at the time of writing, through a supplier.
Both items have been sound and functioned very well and am very pleased with them (Softie 15 sleeping bag and Bergen) The bag has performed very well indeed and the rucksack has as well, although I feel that it should have an adjustable back system. It fitted me well however.....

Snugpak is very unpredictable when it comes to quality.
Out of about 15-20 purchases I have made many are of great craftsmanship with quality in the details. But unfortunately just as many are of poor quality with loose stitching, ripped seams, and loose seam-tape. I keep buying Snugpak because I like their functionality and design. I inspect and repair the products myself before I use them. But due to the common quality issues I would never buy any vital piece of kit from Snugpak, like a tent for example. It's just too great of a risk that it would fail in the field, when I have no resources to fix it.

Just wild camped the South Downs way in the jungle hammock and loved it my advice is change the carabiners for light ones and invest in the under blanket a very comfortable sleep

I had an issue with an item from Snugpak. They were very dismissive. Now I have a product that I cannot use unless I am prepared to spend a third of the RRP of the product to buy a set of new poles, because a 1 cm part of one of the poles split when first using the tent. I had hoped because it was new, they would replace that one section. But no, I will now have to spend £90.00 on buying a complete new set. Which I am loathed to do, if the quality of the product, has shown how poor it is.

I contacted Snugpak and advised them that the item was a gift and that I did not have proof of purchase. Sadly my Father In Law is no longer alive. I did send a photo clearly showing that the damaged pole was clearly new and showed a 5mm fracture/crack in one section of the grey to grey pole. And the fact that because of the issue, that I have to purchase 27 new sections. Which seems disproportionate to the extreme for £90.00 a third of the RRP of the tent is extortionate.

Sent them all the information I had. Snugpak could not replace part. AS THEY DO NOT CARRY ANY SPARES. Beware if you purchase from them, because if it breaks, you may find the warranty is worthless, because of the no spares policy.

I attempted to buy an item three times from them. Twice via the website and once over a telephone call.
All three attempts failed.
I think there are some serious issues processing payments.
This chaos has cost me more than two hours this morning and is still ongoing.

Got my sleeping bag sent out to Madrid with Snugpak.
Arrived to me quickly and no hassles!

Love the bag, quality and look forward to many nights sleep in it!

Over the last few years I have made several purchases from Snugpak. I have to say this company leads the way in customer service and product quality. I cannot fault one single aspect over 7/8 purchases I have made. From the Snugpak 100ltr Bergen down to a face mask I had bought the quality and service has been first class. This is a brand I believe in and would recommend as anyone’s first port of call in purchasing outdoor equipment.

I have been using Snugpak gear for 3 years. In all that time I have only ever had 1 issue.
Which I took to Snugpak and they dealt with immediately and have since released a Generation 2 version of the product in question.
I have a number of their products use them all year round in all weathers and never had an issue besides. Great gear with a good percentage of their products being made right here in the UK.
They keep on growing and will no doubt continue to do.

I bought a snugpak 'softie' antarctica sleeping bag in 2019. It was supposed to have a comfort rating of minus 20 degrees centigrade. I took it to Iceland in September 2019 and the temperature in Iceland in September 2019 never fell below plus 2 - 3 degrees centigrade in the parts of Iceland I visited. Even though I was wearing several layers of merino wool each night and I had plenty of layers underneath me - (and I was in a van with a thick mat underneath me) I was still cold at times in this bag. Snugpak have mislead the public and produced a substandard product. I couldn't take the sleeping bag back because I had used it. I tried contacting Snugpak to complain but I couldn't because their website didn't accept the email form I filled out. Also the Snugpak cookie policy should be stopped. Please avoid buying from this company.

Having bought many Snugpak items over several years, I was disappointed to have a failure on a pack.

Cutting a long story short, it was a complex warranty claim, and I am sure many companies would have "wriggled out of the issue". However I have to say Snugpak handled it extremely fairly and have restored my faith in companies "doing the right thing".

I have since purchased other items, so I hope other companies will take note of the benefits of a good service.
